Poly Activities

We're going to try a number of changes this year based on our experiences in previous years. Watch this web page over the next couple of months as we make changes based on our discussions.

Two of the most important changes we have discussed are:

We'll have activities all day Friday, with those who can arriving Thursday evening. This gives more time for doing stuff together, and more time in between for hanging around! If you can't come until Friday evening don't worry, you are still welcome.

We'll have a designated outdoor area for group gatherings and shared meals, to facilitate more interactions and better communication about activities.

Potluck dinner -- Friday and Saturday evening at the campground. If it rains there is a pavilion. Some of us will have cabins with kitchens available, or you can cook on your campfires. If you don't want to cook bring drinks, snacks, already baked stuff, etc. Someone who doesn't want to cook can bring paper plates and utensils.
If you let us know by email what you will be bringing, we'll try to avoid 20 casseroles and no desserts.

After dinner campfire -- Join together to share your talent or your interests -- play music, dance, share stories. Get to know each other and share together. Bring instruments, drums, all media and styles welcome (don't count on electricity.)  Music will most likely be in one of the cabins, and  there will be plenty of folks around the campfire as well.

Interest groups -- Anyone who wishes to is welcome to call an interest group gathering to meet with other polyfolk who share your interests -- poly parents? bi-poly? poly-mono couples? whatever, just let us know and we'll post it here, and on a bulletin board at the event. Your party!!

Interest groups planned :
(add yours to this list)

Poly groups discussion -- All of those who are interested and involved in forming or running poly groups in your area, or other forms of poly activism, let's get together to get to know those from other communities and share your successes and challenges, suggestions and cautions with each other. Tentatively for Saturday right after dinner?
Groups we hope to have represented include NYC-Poly , CPN , HaRP , and hopefully more.

Being appropriate -- This is a public campground in a conservative rural area. There will also be young children invited and in our camp. We will ask you to keep PDAs* and dress appropriate in order to not freak anyone out and make us unwelcome in the future. Bathing suits in camp will be OK, nudity is not. Late night volume of our music and partying will also need to be considerate of other campground users.

OTOH, we are poly -- if you want to hold hands with two sweeties at once -- enjoy!
